Fundamental to our business is to provide the best possible service to our schools. Therefore, our commitment to the professional development of teachers and support staff is paramount to our success. Teachers need to be equipped with the necessary skills to function at their best in the classroom.
In June 2006 we were awarded ‘Investors in People’ status, endorsing our commitment to the training and development of all personnel.
Training Programme
Training is delivered by our team of educational consultants, who are all highly qualified and experienced professionals. They advise us on current educational trends and initiatives, and these are also reflected in our training programmes.
Currently our most popular courses are:

- SEN and Inclusion
- Use of ICT and Interactive Whiteboards
- Development of Interview Techniques
- Assessment for Learning
Our courses are free of charge and although the provision of training is costly to the company, we regard it as a valuable investment which significantly improves the performance of our teachers and hence the quality of our service to schools.
Headteachers have acknowledged our efforts to develop the skills of our teachers and our increasingly excellent reputation amongst educational professionals is attracting more schools to use our agency.
Supply Teachers Manual
On registering with First class each of our teachers receives a manual which contains our Code of Practice together with sections on training, performance management, evaluation and planning as well as other essential information about the company.
Performance Management
We offer performance management to all our teachers and especially encourage our NQTs to embrace this opportunity in addition to our training provision. We firmly believe that these young teachers need and deserve the chance to develop their skills in their early years in the profession.
School Budgets
We are well aware of the need for schools to balance their budgets and consequently we are being asked more and more frequently to provide good NQTs as opposed to more experienced teachers. As a result of our reputation for continuing professional development and in particular our commitment to these young teachers we are attracting more and more NQTs to our agency.

Our courses are held on weekday evenings so as not to interfere with your work commitments and are free of charge.
